Characteristics and
Traits of a Groodle
Groodles are a hugely popular breed due to their friendliness and eager-to-please nature of the golden retriever and the high intelligence and low-shedding coat of the poodle — making for a dog who's both easy to train and a sweet family pet.

Their appearance can vary widely depending on which parent possesses the more dominant genes, but more often than not they have the adorable 'teddy-bear' look.

Groodles are sociable, fun-loving, active dogs full of love and affection meaning they get along great with other pets, strangers and also tend to be patient and gentle with young children.
They need to be with their family and wouldn't do well as outside dogs or in homes where they'd be left alone for long periods of time, which could cause them to develop separation anxiety.

Standard Poodle
Poodles are good family dogs — fun, energetic, smart, and easy to train.
They do best with plenty of exercise for both mind and body and prefer to be with people most of the time.

Socialization should begin early and include other people, other pets, and the grooming routine. Poodles thrive on attention and can develop bad habits such as nuisance barking if ignored or left alone.

Grooming is a fact of life with a poodle. Poodles are known as good dogs for people with allergies because the hair does not routinely shed out, preventing the release of dander into the air. They do however lose hair (albeit much less than dogs with fur), but the hair tangles up with their curls, preventing it from circulating in the air. For this reason, poodles need regular grooming to prevent matting which can be painful.
Golden Retriever
The golden retriever is even-tempered, intelligent, and affectionate. Golden retrievers are playful, yet gentle with children, and they tend to get along well with other pets and strangers.

These dogs are eager to please, which probably explains why they respond so well to obedience training and are such popular service dogs. They also like to work, whether it involves hunting birds or fetching their owner's slippers.

Golden retrievers are not often barkers, and they lack guard instincts, so do not count on them to make good watchdogs. However, some golden retrievers will let you know when strangers are approaching.

Golden retrievers have a double coat and are known to shed year-round with seasonal heavier shedding. They are not recommended for people with allergies.
